What are your preschool hours?

Monday - Friday 8.30am-3.30pmWe have three session times available daily – 9am-3pm, 8.45am-3.15pm, 8.30am-3.30pm.We are closed for 5 weeks over the Christmas holiday break, and the first week of the July school holidays, as well as all public holidays.

What are your preschool fees?

Do you offer 20 hours free ECE?

Yes, we offer 20 hours free for children 3 years and older, for a maximum of 6 hours per day.

Do children need to bring their own food?

Yes, we encourage children to bring well-balanced morning tea and lunch, in a named lunchbox (this especially saves confusion with other identical lunch containers!), as well as a named water bottle. Can my child sleep or rest at Nursery School?

Yes, for tamariki that need to sleep we have a dedicated space for that.

What is your teacher to child ratio?

Our teacher to child ratio is 1:8, one staff member per 8 children. This is above the regulated requirement of 1:10.

How do you help children settle in when moving from another centre?

Our experienced and caring staff are skilled and experienced at helping new children feel welcomed and comfortable. We offer personalised transition plans tailored to each child's needs, which may include introductory visits, gradual integration, and one-on-one attention from their Key Teacher.While there might be an initial adjustment period, the long-term benefits of the move to Nursery School will far outweigh any temporary discomfort. Our expansive learning spaces, individualised care, and strong sense of community offer an enriching and stable environment that fosters your child's growth and development. Rest assured, we will work closely with you to ensure your child's move is a positive and enriching experience.

Being a not-for-profit community early childhood education centre means that we focus on providing quality care and education for your children rather than making money. Any funds we receive go directly back into the centre to improve our services, facilities, and resources for the children. Our main goal is to support and benefit the community by offering quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education.
